About Halwa
Carrot Halwa is a popular dessert in India and especially in North India. During the winters it’s taste hits different and we all know everyone love the carrot halwa during winter season. Personally i don’t like nuts and dry fruits in the carrot halwa as you can see in the picture but don’t burry i will tell you how to make the carrot halwa with authentic taste. Halwa is a delicious dessert recipe that’s why most of the people like it. Basically the name of ‘Halwa’ arrive from the Arabic word ”sweet.” It’s a effortless recipe however take a little bit time. I prefer to make use of red juicy and tender carrots.
Ingredients
- 1 kg Carrots
- 6 cups Milk
- 5 tablespoon Ghee
- 12 tablespoon sugar or according to your taste
- 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 15 Cashews
- 15 Almonds
- 15 Pistachios
- (Add nuts and dry fruits as your choice)
Method
1.First of all take a deep pan, add 5 tablespoon ghee in the pan and now add the grated carrots. Cook 20 to 25 minutes.
2.Now add milk and mix carrots and milk together on a medium flame. After few minutes you will see that the milk begin to forth and then start reducing.
3.Stir the mixture consistently until the moisture reduced by 80%. Now add sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well.
4.Continue to cook on medium flame after 5 minutes to simmer on a low flame. keep stirring.
5.When halwa looks like pudding consistency, now add nuts of your choice. Stir again.
6.When you see the mixture reducing moisture completely and ghee come on the surface. Your halwa is ready to eat.
